With more than half the month of January already gone, I can’t help but get a fire under me for 2018’s future home projects! Today I have light fixtures on the brain, and I look forward to adding a little more of that modern, farmhouse flair to our home this year with some awesome fixtures.
We have recessed lighting all throughout our home, which is convenient and does light our home very well. However, I have noticed in the past 6 months of living here, that it doesn’t always give off that warmth that other lighting does, and tends to create a lot of shadowing. I am chiseling away at my husband with the idea of adding some different lighting sources. I have him just about convinced that we need a small chandelier over our dining table (because who doesn’t??!), as well as a few wall sconces flanked on the wall in our bar area.
These fixtures below are the ones I’ve rounded up that I have my eyes on. When the time comes to take on our lighting projects, we will be selecting from the ones below. These are ALL from Amazon, and 95% of them are Prime, which means fast, free shipping!

Some of the following light options are sized a little smaller, or labeled as “pendants”. We do not have a huge dining room, and do not want a very large fixture. The good news is that if you see one you like, most of them have size options!
Some of these wall sconces can be hard wired and some are the plug-in type. We are considering both options and taking time to think about which one will be best. Hard wiring will require an electrician, so the plug-in type is ore budget friendly in that regard.
Here are some necessary accessories for this lighting project! If we go with the plug-in style Wall Scones, we will need some pretty Cord Covers to run down the wall. And of course, you can’t forget the Edison Bulbs! A must have for glass fixtures, or chandeliers where your bulbs are visible!
