Hi Friends!
As we have full hearts and full bellies from the Thanksgiving Holiday, my group of sweet Blogger friends and I have joined together to share with you Christmas inspiration right from our own homes! Please join me with a cup of coffee āļø or glass of wine š·Ā as I take you through a tour of my Christmas Decor! When you finish up here, I will guide you on to the next Blogger to find more beautiful Christmas inspiration!
I adore traditional Christmas, in terms of colors. In my home, that translates into a cozy, rustic theme, with lots of natural elements and fun patterns. Let me start by showing you our Christmas Tree and Living Room.
Our tree is the focus of the room, as I believe any Christmas Tree should be! I have adorned ours with natural elements like holly picks and pinecones, and it is wrapped with burlap and buffalo plaid ribbons.
Our ornaments are a mix of old and new. They are all playing into the color scheme, with notes of red, natural tones, and some pops of green. I love using ornaments that belonged to loved ones before, as well as ones that have been collected as a family over the years. That’s what Christmas is all about- memories!
You can see some closer details here. My wrapping assortment coordinates with the Tree Trimmings. The gifts under the tree are another opportunity to add to your decor! It’s fun to be thoughtful and intentional with gift wrapping!
Here is a wide view of our living space. You can see that I have carried the buffalo plaid and natural elements through the space, such as with the pillows, and the decor on the shelves.
Here you can see the assortment of pillow covers in the living room. I had such a blast shopping for these this year, and wrote a blog post with links on where to purchase HERE.
Ā The rest of the Living Room details can be seen above. š
Our living area is actually a Great Room, with our Dining Room right behind our sofa. I absolutely loved styling my Christmas tablescape this year.
I used an assortment of all my favorite dish ware, all while considering what would be functional at the table for Christmas Dinner. You will see a mix of different sized plates, anchored on woven ivory placemat rounds. The napkins play off of the table runner with their vintage ticking stripe pattern.
Each place setting was completed with a holly berry pick, that ties into the centerpiece. The holly berries and pinecones are inspired from the decor on the Christmas Tree, bringing the theme together through the spaces.
I have placed serving pitchers on either side of the table. One will be for my favorite Holiday Punch, for the adults šøĀ and the other for water. Even though these two pitchers do not match, they are unified by the wreaths dressing them. The one clay pottery pitcher plays nicely off of the dish ware, and the glass decanter pairs well with the other glass elements on the table.
The name cards set into the wreaths on the backs of the chairs adds another thoughtful touch.
Here are more detailed views of our Christmas Dining Room.
In my Kitchen, I focused on my Tiered Tray, and other small accents for decor. Since this is the other side of the Great Room, I didn’t want to draw too much attention away from the Christmas Tree.
In my white Kitchen, even small accents make a big statement. Sometimes less is more! My boys love to help bake, so having whimsical touches for them makes it extra special to whip up Santa’s cookies!
I love creating small vignettes in the Kitchen with trays as the base. It helps to keep the items contained, but also breaks up the countertop underneath.
Here are more detailed views of my Christmas Kitchen.
Including close ups of the Tiered Tray!
The last area in our Great Room is our (still in progress, read about it HERE) Coffee Bar! I decked this area out with our collection of coffee themed ornaments on our mini tree, and some other fun touches!
As you walk from the Great Room down the Hallway, we have a bench that my husband and I built together this year. This is a drop zone of sorts for us, with hooks on the wall to hold things.
For Christmas, it has transformed to a place where stockings hang, and friends and family can drop gifts before they make their way under the Tree!
Down the Hallway, I have a display of meaningful photos of family, and my Husband and I on our wedding day. This area was perfect for our “Be Merry” banner!
Opposite of that, above our entryway table, I added some touches to our mirror that would tie in the pinecones and holly berries once again.
On our entryway table I displayed my Mom’s vintage Christmas Village. I gave it some visual interest and height by arranging the pieces atop old books. My boys love to play with the Village, even though they aren’t supposed to! But that’s a lesson learned for me, since I set it up right next to their Playroom!
The Playroom is our second living area. This is where the boys have their space to play freely! I wanted to make this room fun for them, so I chose pillows they would love, like the one with the car, and hung their stockings in here too!
The wreath in this room was the first piece of decor I put together this year, and it inspired the look for Christmas throughout our home.Ā This is our first Christmas in our new home, and I have a feeling it’s going to be one to remember.
Thank you so much for taking a tour through my Christmas Decor!
